Terms of service

The agreement between you and MyTipKart: how each service works, who is responsible for what, how money is held and released, and what happens when something goes wrong.

Who we are and what this covers

MyTipKart operates two services. Cross-border sourcing finds a product in India on your behalf and delivers it to you in Zimbabwe. MyTipKart Local is a domestic marketplace that connects people who need something moved or bought with travellers and fetchers willing to do it.

By creating an account or using the service you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use MyTipKart.

You must be at least 18 and legally able to enter a contract.

Our role in a Local delivery

This is the most important thing to understand about Local, so we will be plain about it: on MyTipKart Local we are the marketplace and the payment escrow, not the courier. Carriers and fetchers are independent people, not our employees or agents. They choose which jobs to accept and how they travel.

We verify carriers and fetchers before they can accept work, hold payment until a handover is confirmed, and step in on disputes. We do not physically handle your parcel.

Cross-border sourcing works differently: there, MyTipKart arranges the purchase and shipping itself, and is responsible to you for that service.

Your account

  • Give accurate information and keep it current. Delivery failures caused by a wrong address or phone number are your responsibility.
  • Your account is yours alone. Do not share access or let someone else act as you.
  • Verify your phone number when asked. Some actions are unavailable until you do.
  • We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, that we reasonably suspect of fraud, or that puts other users at risk.

Cross-border sourcing

  • You describe what you want. We quote a price, which includes the item, shipping and our fee.
  • A quote is an offer, not a promise that an item exists at that price forever. Quotes expire, and we may withdraw one if the item becomes unavailable or its price moves before you accept.
  • You pay a 40% deposit to confirm. The remaining 60% is due when the item is delivered to you in Zimbabwe.
  • Delivery estimates are estimates. Customs inspections, carrier delays and stock problems can move them, and we will keep you informed when they do.
  • If we cannot source an item after you have paid a deposit, we refund the deposit in full.
  • Deposits are otherwise non-refundable once we have purchased the item, because the money has already been spent on your behalf.
  • You are responsible for making sure what you ask for may lawfully be imported into Zimbabwe. Duties and taxes are included in your quote unless we say otherwise in writing.

Sending, carrying and errands on Local

If you send a parcel: describe the contents honestly, pack them properly, and be available at the pickup time you agreed.

If you carry a parcel: only accept jobs you can genuinely complete, keep the parcel secure and unopened, and hand it over only to the named recipient using the delivery code.

If you run an errand: buy what was actually requested, keep the receipt, and hand over both the goods and the change.

  • Pickup and delivery are confirmed with one-time codes. Do not share a code with anyone other than the person completing that step, and never before they are in front of you.
  • Agree changes through MyTipKart, not privately. Arrangements made off-platform are not covered by escrow and we cannot help if they go wrong.
  • Repeatedly cancelling accepted jobs, or failing to show up, can cost you access to the marketplace.

What you may not send

Every parcel posting requires you to declare its contents. You may not send:

  • Drugs or controlled substances.
  • Weapons, ammunition or explosives.
  • Live animals.
  • Counterfeit currency.
  • Cash above the threshold shown at posting.
  • Perishables that need refrigeration we cannot provide.
  • Anything else illegal to possess or transport in Zimbabwe.

A false declaration is a serious breach. It voids any protection on that delivery, and we will close your account and report it to the authorities where the law requires. Carriers may refuse or stop carrying anything they reasonably believe is misdeclared.

Payment, escrow and fees

  • Prices are shown before you confirm. The price you confirm is the price you pay, unless you later change the job.
  • On Local, your payment is held in escrow. It is released to the carrier or fetcher only once delivery is confirmed. This protects both of you.
  • Our service fee is shown in the price breakdown before you confirm, not added afterwards.
  • Carriers and fetchers are paid out after a completed handover. Payouts are held while a dispute on that job is open.
  • You are responsible for your own tax obligations on money you earn through MyTipKart.
  • If a payment is reversed or charged back after a delivery is complete, we may recover the amount from your account balance or future earnings.

Cancellations and refunds

  • Cancel a Local booking before pickup and your escrowed payment is refunded, less any transaction cost we have already incurred.
  • Once a parcel has been collected, a cancellation is handled as a dispute rather than an automatic refund, because someone is already holding your goods.
  • If a carrier fails to deliver, you are refunded in full from escrow.
  • Cross-border deposits follow the sourcing rules above.

Loss, damage and disputes

Report a problem through the app as soon as you notice it, and keep any photos or receipts. We will look at the delivery record, the handover confirmations, the messages between you and the other party, and any evidence either of you provides, then decide how the escrowed payment is handled.

Our decision determines what happens to the money we are holding. It does not stop you pursuing the other party directly, and it does not remove any right you have under Zimbabwean consumer law.

Declared value caps what can be recovered on a Local delivery. If you are sending something valuable, declare it honestly and insure it separately.

Ratings and conduct

  • Both sides rate each other after a job. Rate honestly and based on what actually happened.
  • Do not harass, threaten or discriminate against anyone on the platform.
  • Do not manipulate ratings, create fake accounts, scrape the site, or attempt to interfere with its security.
  • We remove reviews that contain abuse or personal information, but we do not remove a review simply for being unflattering.

Limits on our liability

We provide the marketplace as it is. We work to keep it available and accurate, but we do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free.

For Local, our responsibility is limited to operating the marketplace and the escrow properly, and to the amount held in escrow for the delivery in question. We are not liable for the conduct of an independent carrier, fetcher or sender beyond that.

We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profit or lost opportunity. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.

Changes, termination and governing law

  • We may update these terms. The date at the top of this page changes when we do, and we will tell you directly about material changes. Continuing to use MyTipKart after a change means you accept it.
  • You can stop using MyTipKart and close your account at any time. Obligations on deliveries already underway survive.
  • These terms are governed by the laws of Zimbabwe, and the courts of Zimbabwe have jurisdiction.
  • If any part of these terms is unenforceable, the rest continues to apply.
